A note on a determinant identity

چکیده

In this note we show that the determinant identities obtained by Rezaifar and Rezaee (2007)– [1] and Dutta and Pal (2011)–[2] are straightforward consequences of a general result due to Capelli. © 2015 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

A Note on Wiener-hopf Determinants and the Borodin-okounkov Identity

Recently, a beautiful identity due to Borodin and Okounkov was proved for Toeplitz determinants which shows how one can write a Toeplitz determinant as a Fredholm determinant. In this note we generalize this to the Wiener-Hopf case. The proof in the Wiener-Hopf case follows identically with the second one given in [1]. We include it here for completeness sake and because the nature of the ident...

A Determinant of the Chudnovskys Generalizing the Elliptic Frobenius-Stickelberger-Cauchy Determinantal Identity

D.V. Chudnovsky and G.V. Chudnovsky [CH] introduced a generalization of the FrobeniusStickelberger determinantal identity involving elliptic functions that generalize the Cauchy determinant. The purpose of this note is to provide a simple essentially non-analytic proof of this evaluation. This method of proof is inspired by D. Zeilberger’s creative application in [Z1]. A NOTE ON STRATIFIED LM-FILTERS

We develop a theory of stratified $LM$-filters which generalizes the theory of stratified $L$-filters. Our stratification condition explicitly depends on a suitable mapping between the lattices $L$ and $M$. If $L$ and $M$ are identical and the mapping is the identity mapping, then we obtain the theory of stratified $L$-filters. Based on the stratified $LM$-filters, a general theory of lattice-v...

On a Toeplitz Determinant Identity of Borodin and Okounkov

The authors of the title proved in [2] an elegant identity expressing a Toeplitz determinant in terms of the Fredholm determinant of an infinite matrix which (although not described as such) is the product of two Hankel matrices. The proof used combinatorial theory, in particular a theorem of Gessel expressing a Toeplitz determinant as a sum over partitions of products of Schur functions. The p...

A note on the socle of certain types of f-rings

For any reduced commutative $f$-ring with identity and bounded inversion, we show that a condition which is obviously necessary for the socle of the ring to coincide with the socle of its bounded part, is actually also sufficient. The condition is that every minimal ideal of the ring consist entirely of bounded elements. It is not too stringent, and is satisfied, for instance, by rings of ...
